What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation which promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and gives us life as we know it.If one’s life force energy is low, then we are more likely to feel ill or stressed and if it is high we are feel energized, happy and well. Reiki works by re-balancing the energy flow. It removes blockages within the body that may have built over years resulting in pain, stress, emotional worries and inability to move forward. It is a simple, natural and safe method of healing.

What to expect during a session

You relax, fully clothed, on a massage table while the practitioner holds her hands either lightly on or slightly above your body.There are a series of hand positions, but no pressure or manipulation of the body is done, so it is good for anyone regardless of age or condition.Energy flows where it is required and some report a warm or tingling sensation during the session. The length of a session ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Receiving Reiki is a very calming and soothing experience which will leave you feeling revitalized and refreshed.
